10 Amazing Actors Yet To Realise Their True Potential

9. Jesse Plemons

Todd Alquist, Breaking Bad

It's a relatively rare thing for a child star to grow up into a compelling and talented adult actor, which perhaps says more about the negative psychological effects of fame and the industry than anything else. On the evidence so far it's highly unlikely that Jesse Plemons will be traveling down the same troubled path as the likes of Macaulay Culkin any time soon. Resembling a moon-faced Matt Damon, Plemons first broke through on television with Friday Night Lights, but today most people recognize him as Todd Alquist, the "loveable" psychopathic child killer from Breaking Bad. His chilling performance was so good that he was moved up to a series regular, and since then he's developed an impressive filmography in a relatively short space of time. While his supporting role alongside Johnny Depp in Black Mass and a part in Steven Spielberg's latest Bridge Of Spies makes it clear that Plemons already has a foot in the big leagues, it's his "cow-like" performance (to paraphrase the show's creator Noah Hawley) in the second season of Fargo as Ed Blomquist that has truly established him as an actor with huge potential.
