10 Amazing Actresses Hollywood Don't Know What To Do With
10. Rebecca Hall
Hollywood doesn't know what to do with Rebecca Hall. Weirdly, even Woody Allen, who's given so many great roles to women over the years, doesn't know what to do with Rebecca Hall, as he gave her one of the least interesting of his written characters in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, where Hall found her dull lead completely overshadowed by Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz's louder supporting figures. And in what could've been her big break, Shane Black had Hall down as an afterthought for Iron Man 3 (seriously, her character could've been written out with hardly any trouble at all). But don't doubt that Hall can actually act, as she showed early on in the double whammy of The Prestige and Starter For 10 back in 2006, where she proved herself a radiant kind of everywoman. It's just that Hall hasn't had much to do since, and even films like The Town and Everything Must Go smaller dramas better equipped for acting displays than blockbusters like Iron Man 3 have lumbered the Brit with nothing roles.
Lover of film, writer of words, pretentious beyond belief. Thinks Scorsese and Kubrick are the kings of cinema, but PT Anderson and David Fincher are the dashing young princes. Follow Brogan on twitter if you can take shameless self-promotion: @BroganMorris1
