10 Amazing Animated Film Soundtracks From The Last 10 Years
2. Frozen And Frozen 2
While Frozen had the most iconic song ever to grace animated film, Frozen 2 was overall better in terms of how it came together, related to the story, and the overall feel of the film.
"Let It Go" wouldn't stop playing (and still doesn't, sometimes) for ages after the first film, often outshining its other charming tracks, such as "Frozen Heart" or "Love Is An Open Door" or "For The First Time In Forever". "Do You Want To Build A Snowman" came close, if only for its lasting power and meme-worthiness.
Frozen 2 had a more mature tone going for it, with "Into The Unknown" not quite reaching Let It Go's heights but nonetheless epic and beautiful, both in Idina Menzel's beautiful Elsa vocals and Brendon Urie's gorgeous cover. "The Next Right Thing" shows the film's darkest moment and Kristen Bell's Ana overcoming an impossible situation, whereas her communal "Some Things Never Change", as well as Olaf's (Josh Gad) hilarious "When I Am Older" and Kristoff's (Jonathan Groff) 80s ballad "Lost In The Woods" provide lighter fare.
These films's music have undeniable staying power, making composer Robert Lopez not only the youngest to ever receive EGOT status, but achieve double EGOT status.
