2. Jane Fosters Teleporting Manipulation
Paramount PicturesIn Thor: The Dark World it seemed like Greenwich was destined to be destroyed by the Dark Elves gigantic ship, but Jane Foster's manipulation of the convergence allowed the invading enemies to be transported away, allowing for the defeat of Malekith. By manipulating the dimensional mix-up, Foster became the only human capable of combating the powerful enemy forces. The second Thor film accomplished little in terms of changing the wider universe, but Foster's genius is extraordinary; although she builds upon Selvig's work, the destruction of the ship and the defeat of Malekith, was due to Foster's involvement. This act combined genius tactical decisions and scientific knowledge, showing that despite the film being little more than a filler designed to keep up interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until the next Avengers film comes out, there is still the possibility for enthralling scenes. This is a symbol of hope considering Marvel's ambitious plans to roll out increasingly adventurous films for a broad audience (e.g. Guardians of the Galaxy). Even if not every Marvel film fully ties into the wider universe, this sequence and act of genius made clear that the film can still be worth watching.
