2. Skiing Off A Cliff - The Spy Who Loved Me
Easily one of the most famous stunts ever performed, the opening pre-credits sizzle of The Spy Who Loved Me culminates with Bond fleeing a group of assassins and skiing off the edge of a cliff before deploying a parachute, in one of Bond's most all-time badass moments. The nature of the stunt was so delicate that stuntman Rick Sylvester had to wait 2 weeks for the weather on Mount Asgard to change in his favour, and in the end, he had only a small 15-minute window to successfully make the jump, and even then, it was touch and go. Despite five cameras recording the jump, apparently only one provided a satisfactory shot, and to make matters even worse, when Sylvester began to fall, one of his skis smacked into the parachute. Sure, it resulted in one of the most iconic stunts in film history, but this is the Roger Moore era we're talking about; some lame rear projection would have fallen in line with the generally camp tone of his Bond movies.
