10 Amazing Movies Made On Shockingly Small Budgets

3. Woodchipper Massacre - $400

Woodchipper Massacre
Donna Michelle Productions

From director Jon McBride, director of such classics as Cannibal Campout, Terror House and Hellgate: The House That Screamed 2 comes Woodchipper Massacre. Released in 1988, the movie follows three kids who, when their father goes away on business, end up killing a bunch of people with a wood chipper.

The movie cost only $400, although that doesn’t include the price of the camera. That cost couldn’t have been that high though judging from the quality of the film, which looks absolutely awful and should in no way be seen by anyone.

Looking at the footage now, it really does look like a glorified home movie, and it’s hard to believe this thing is actually available to purchase on DVD. But hey, it’s technically a movie, and there's an undeniable charm to the whole thing. It's kind of horrible in a lot of ways, yet it's arguably worth checking out if only for the novelty. Watch it on your Playstation 4 and remember that the system costs as much as this movie did to make.
