10 Amazing Movies That Are Total Nonsense

9. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrates its 50th(!) anniversary next year, and over the last five decades has endured as a campy midnight movie that's still screening in cinemas around the globe, making it the longest continuous theatrical release in film history.

The unforgettable musical numbers, glorious costumes, and impeccable performances - best of all Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter - add up to a riotously fun time, even if the particulars of its wacky sci-fi-homaging plot don't in any way hold up to scrutiny. But why fuss over petty things like "meaning" when you can just do the Time Warp again? Be honest with yourself - would you really want to change the narrative and have it slot together any more coherently?

In its own way, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a perfect cinematic organism; an irrepressibly horny testament to the power of favouring giddy theatrics over basic sense. If that were a bad thing, would people still be talking about it a half-century later?
