10 Amazing Plot Twists In Otherwise Awful Movies

6. The Hunt - The Opening Five Minutes

The Hunt is probably the most disappointing horror film of the decade so far. It was delayed for several months due to concerns about its content, and once it finally arrived, it turned out to be a disappointingly tame experience that failed to ever make much of an impact or deliver any remotely meaningful social commentary.

Having said that, the opening of the film is amazing and hints at a far better movie than the one we actually got.

In the film's opening, several kidnapped victims wake up in the hunting grounds, and audiences will most likely assume that these guys are some of the main characters, especially as they include well-known actors like Emma Roberts and Ike Barinholtz. As such, it's a brilliant shock when all of these characters are suddenly killed off in gory fashion, with the actual lead (Betty Gilpin) only showing up afterwards.

This is definitely one of the best opening scenes to an otherwise bad movie in relatively recent memory, and it's such a crying shame that the rest of the film wasn't even half as good as this.
