10 Amazing Spider-Man 2 Script Changes That Drastically Changed The Film

3. No Little Spider-Man, Hardly Any Rhino

Two of the best sequences in the film feature a kid dressed up as Spider-Man. Peter saves him from a bunch of bullies near the beginning of the film, and even walks him home while talking about how cool the kid's science project is. The kid then shows up later, when the real Spidey is nowhere to be found, and stands up to the Rhino. Spider-Man of course saves him again, in a sequence that closes out the movie. In the original draft, the kid is nowhere to be found, and the Rhino is barely in it. The Rhino was barely in the film as it is, but we can't help but feel that maybe his exclusion would have helped smooth the edges of the movie a bit. As it stands Paul Giamatti's over-the-top Russian accent (which makes him sound a lot like Gru from the Despicable Me films) is a bit hard to swallow.
