10 Amazing Supporting Characters You Wish Movies Were Centred On
7. Nevada - Zombieland: Double Tap
At this point, Rosario Dawson is like nerdy royalty, thanks to starring in the likes of Clerks, the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and most recently in the Star Wars universe as Ahsoka. She is incredibly popular, and naturally her appearance in Zombieland: Double Tap was an extremely welcome one.
Coming a full decade after the original, the Zombieland sequel of course struggled to live up to the magic that the first film produced, as is the case with too many sequels, even in spite of somehow managing to convince the main four characters to come back.
Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin) were joined by newbies Luke Wilson, Thomas Middleditch, and Zoey Deutch, but it was easily Rosario Dawson's Nevada that stole the show. As something of a female version of Tallahassee, with her love of Elvis and guns, and unafraid to kick whoever's ass she had to, she was a hell of a lot of fun.
Yes, seeing the core four back together was fun, but did they really need a whole new movie together? The Zombieland sequel may have been better served by putting Nevada in the key protagonist role, and having the originals as the support to show up midway through and at the end. A great story surrounding a new badass character, and the fan service these legacy sequels are built around. Win win.
