10 Amazing Trailers That Tricked You Into Seeing Terrible Horror Movies

4. The Dead Don't Die

I know I've written "this should have been an easy home run" for most of these entries so far, but The Dead Don't Die really should have been an easy win with indie horror fans.

You had Jim Jarmusch directing a zombie comedy with a cast that starred Adam Driver, Bill Murray and Chloe Sevigny, and everyone from a katana-wielding Tilda Swinton to the likes of RZA, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits also showing up to take part in the fun.

The trailer wasn't laugh-out-loud funny, but it looked like it knew what it was and, more importantly, it had Adam Driver saying "ghouls" in a way that you simply had to repeat to yourself in real life. There was promise there, and surely that cast wouldn't sign on for a stinker?

Well, either actors have worse taste than we think or Jarmusch was calling in some favours, as The Dead Don't Die ended up being a meandering, unfunny mess. At an hour-and-forty-five minutes it felt like a lifetime, with it failing as a zombie movie, a satire, and everything else in between.
