10 Animated Movies That Desperately Need Sequels

7. Paranorman

Paranorman is one of the most inventive animated movies of the last few years, a tale about a young boy named Norman who can communicate with the dead, much to the ridicule and doubt of his friends and family. However, when a curse threatens his town, he might be the only one who can save it. This is a rare animated film that is going to be extra entertaining for fans of classic horror movies, because Paranorman is absolutely chock full of cheeky references to the best of the genre: there's the Halloween theme featured at one point, and Norman's chubby buddy shows up to his house wearing the signature Jason Voorhees hockey mask. Even on its own merits, it's a charming and beautifully crafted adventure, with stop-motion animation helping to give it a distinctly other-worldly look. Sadly, a sequel is almost certainly never going to happen due to the movie making less-than-double its budget at the box office.
