6. Theron (300)
While Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his army of
300 are battling the armies of Xerxes at Thermopylae (the Hot Gates), Leonidas' wife Gorgo (Lena Headey), agrees to a sexual encounter with corrupt Spartan politician Theron (Dominic West), before which he promises his help in persuading the Spartan council to send reinforcements to Leonidas. Theron then engages in the sexual act whilst giving a vile speech about how Gorgo "will not enjoy this". However, following an address that Gorgo gives to the Spartan Council, Theron publicly betrays the Queen by accusing her of adultery, prompting the councilmen to cry out in outrage. Gorgo then proceeds to kill him in a fit of anger, reciting the speech he gave her previously in a truly satisfying moment. The xiphos that Gorgo uses to kill Theron pierces his purse, spilling Persian coins from his robe, revealing his role as traitor, and the Council agrees to unite against Xerxes' armies.
