2003's A Tale of Two Sisters is a hauntingly beautiful yet frightening offering from South Korea. Written and directed by Kim Jee-woon, the production stars Im Soo-Jung and Yum Jung-Ah, who play siblings in the ghastly tale. A Tale of Two Sisters is one of the highest grossing horror films from Korea and was highly praised by critics and fans after release.

The film follows on the trail of two sisters who are very close, with one having recently been released from a mental health facility, in which she was recovering from psychosis. The siblings are staying with their parents at an isolated property in the secluded, beautiful countryside. However, after some time, the sisters begin to experience terrifying and frightening events that plague them. Who or what is causing the disturbing events to occur? The family soon find out at a cost.

A Tale of Two Sisters is undoubtedly one of the finest horror releases from Asia. It is beautifully scripted, with a solid cast and a uniquely paranormal storyline. If you love horror films with a difference, we can't recommend this one enough.
