After a series of cop movies and action flicks, Clint Eastwood looked to have given up on Westerns by the time the 80s came about. In 1985 though, Eastwood revisited the genre once more, directing and starring in 1985's Pale Rider. Once again, Eastwood took on the role of a mysterious gunman, this time attempting to save a town from an evil miner and his henchmen. Pale Rider was never going to top the lists of anyone's favourite Western films, but it's still a hugely enjoyable movie. You can see Eastwood experimenting with an updated style of directing Westerns, which would later be perfected in the exceptional Unforgiven, and Eastwood himself is good as ever as a hardened vigilante. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePlyWlhobDU
