8. Macaulay Culkin
The 90s made Culkin one of the most successful child stars of all time, but then at the age of 14, he suddenly and unexpectedly retired from acting. And as we all do, he got older, but unlike with Johnny No-Marks like you and me, the aging process often cripples child actors both financially and emotionally. Amidst reports drug allegations, divorces, Michael Jackson controversy and estrangement from his father, its clear that Culkin struggled with some personal demons throughout the noughties that left him unable to work as an actor. Despite that unprecedented early success in the 90s, and despite extensive acting education and experience, Culkin struggled to make any sort of impact on the noughties, and remains fairly far outside the realm of the public eye still today.
