5. The Flip Car - Fast & Furious 6
Fast Five reinvented the Fast & Furious franchise in glorious fashion, celebrated for its tongue-in-cheek tone, heist movie narrative and wildly over-the-top, cartoonish set-pieces. Fast & Furious 6 impressively lives up to that level of insanity, and as such it's difficult to decide which set-pieces from the movie belong in this list (and as such, we included two). However, few will argue with the brilliance of a car chase sequence that takes place in London, as villain Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) flees from both the police and Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) gang. The beauty of the scene is the ride that Shaw is driving; a prototype vehicle with an adjustable ramp called the Flip Car, which enables Shaw to drive directly into other vehicles and use the ramp to flip the cars as though they were toys. The action movie has never seen anything quite like this before, and the result was something that seemed
plausible (albeit not massively likely), yet was also over-the-top enough to deliver on the franchise's new style. And that's not even the best of it, but more on that later.
