Though Warren Beatty is not a name thrown around a lot now among movie fans, he was once one of the most appealing and charismatic performers to come from Hollywood. Many of his classic films still hold up like Reds, Dick Tracy and Bonnie and Clyde. His last acting role was unfortunately in 2001's rightfully forgotten Town and Country. Since then the man has been in a quiet and unofficial retirement with his still working wife Annette Benning. It's unfortunate the actor has not been gracefully working his way into more senior roles or even continuing his top notch directing in the same fashion as someone like Clint Eastwood. At 76 and with no officially announced projects in the works, it's unlikely we will ever see Warren Beatty ever bring characters or film to life again which is a shame since he's the same man that brought gangster Bugsy Seigel to life in such an unforgettable fashion. An interesting fact on the man's recent activities is this: in 2010 there was a short documentary titled Dick Tracy Special where Beatty apparently dressed up like Dick Tracy to sort of reprise the role of the detective from his 90s blockbuster. It was a move reportedly made so Beatty could keep the rights to the character. Does this mean we could see him acting in or directing a future Dick Tracy movie one day? Probably not, but it's nice to dream. What other awesome actors have disappeared off the face of the earth that you'd like to see return to the movies? Sound off in the comments below!
