10 Awesome Actors Who Just Dropped Off The Face Of The Earth
4. Jack Nicholson
Jack Nicholson will always be fondly remembered as the leading man that could intensely frighten us (The Shining) as well as the guy that could play the clever everyman we could root for (Chinatown). Into his 60s and 70s, Nicholson did not let his roles get any less complicated. He starred in dry comedies like About Schmidt and dark and violent crime tales like The Departed. It was soon after these movies, however, that Nicholson slowed down in the acting department and had a sort of unofficial retirement. Nicholson's last roles were Rob Reiner's 2007 hit The Bucket List and a small role in James L. Brook's How Do You Know which was released in 2010. Since then, the actor has been rather quiet. He doesn't talk to the press much, but can be seen at almost every single Lakers basketball game. Recently, rumors spread that Nicholson would be officially retiring from the big screen due to memory loss. However, those rumors were quickly put to rest and it was announced that the 76 year old was actively searching for his next role. Still, it's hard to imagine the man is in a big rush. The awesome actor hasn't been seen onscreen in three years and had a three year hiatus before that as well. For all intents and purposes, he's essentially disappeared and we are left with nothing but rumors to suggest what the man is currently up to.
