6. Glenn Close - Guardians Of The Galaxy
It's in no way an exaggeration to say that Glenn Close is sheer acting royalty.
With seven Oscar nominations to her name - albeit tragically without a win - Close should've been ripe for a substantial mainline role in the MCU, but alas, she wound up with a glorified "extended cameo."
Granted, James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy had an enormous ensemble cast to juggle, but Close quickly faded into the periphery with her almost-nothing role as the Nova Corps' leader Nova Prime.
Close doesn't get to do much other than spout some fast-and-easy exposition - something she could evidently do in her sleep - and though she did reportedly film a cameo for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn ended up cutting it. Oof.
And with Xandar being destroyed by Thanos at the start of Avengers: Infinity War, fans have freely speculated that Prime perished in the attack, though this hasn't ever been formally confirmed.
To be fair, Close freely admitted she took the part for the money above all else, so she probably wasn't too miffed about merely dipping her toe in the MCU.
