3. World War Z
Released On: 21st June (UK and US)
Whats It About: Based on the popular novel, varying quality filmmaker Marc Forster's film follows Brad Pitts UN employee and family man, searching for a solution to a zombie outbreak. Rather than ditching the books anecdotal collection narrative, it seems that Pitts journey is a portal to opening up the global populaces view on the tragedy. Expect a lot of running zombie action, which will delight audiences and anger traditionalists.
Why Itll Be Awesome: He's starred in some of the biggest movies of the past twenty years, working with Tarantino, Soderberg, Gilliam, and Fincher, but World War Z might just be Brad Pitts first bona fide blockbuster. Forsters action films in the past have been lacklustre, but World War Z promises to be more personal than its trailer initially suggested, creating similarities more with his Oscar noticed Finding Neverland and The Kite Runner than the dire Quantum Of Solace. Its rare we get a global zombie movie, but this human approach seems to be the way to do it.
