2. Kyle Dream Sequence - Terminator 2: Judgement Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2yG5fH8J6g James Cameron thankfully had the good sense to restore this deleted scene to his brilliant - and significantly better - Extended Cut of Terminator 2, which enhances the film's themes and gives hardcore fans a few nice little treats like this. When Sarah Connor is in the Pescadero Mental Hospital, she has a dream that Kyle Reese, the father of her son John, comes to visit her, telling her that she has to continue to fight for her son, and therefore for the human race (as John is the future resistance leader). Michael Biehn even gets to fire the "On your feet, soldier!", line back at her, and the two embrace before Sarah awakens from her sleep. It's a great little scene because, frankly, Michael Biehn is a total badass, and it's great to see him on-screen any time but it's also one of those scene superfluous enough that casual viewers perhaps could have done without it. As someone who regards T2 as the best film ever made, though, it feels absolutely necessary, and helps to accentuate the thematic basis of the plot - that is, love for your fellow man (or woman).
