2. Thor Bottlenecks The Portal (Avengers)

In the Avengers movie, when Loki had Erik Selvig use the Tesseract to open a portal above New York, a seemingly endless number of Chitauri soldiers continuously poured through it. Although most of the Avengers were generally untroubled by the Chitauri, the sheer numbers were getting very difficult to contain and they were causing havoc and destruction when left unobstructed. As a result, Captain America came up with the idea of Thor using Mjolnir to bottleneck the portal to essentially take out the aliens as they came through it, before they could do any damage. Thor took to the top of a skyscraper, using it as a sort of conductor to amp his power up, and called upon lightning. At that point, he unleashed a massive blast of it which took out hordes of incoming Chitauri and their crafts.
