10 Awesome Fan Theories About The Future Of The MCU

4. Nomad Steve Rogers Will Appear In A Future Movie

Nomad is an alternate Steve Rogers identity that sees the character abandon the Captain America name and costume after becoming disillusioned with the U.S. government.

But rather than disregarding the whole hero thing altogether, Steve adopts the name "Nomad", dons a yellow costume and becomes more of a vigilante than a G-man.

Could we see this version of the character in an upcoming MCU movie? If this fan theory turns out to be correct, then yes.

After all, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch; Chris Evans' Steve Rogers is already very much at odds with the rigidity of Thaddeus Ross' operating style, and at the end of Captain America: Civil War, the titular character dismisses his signature shield and outfit, choosing to sport a dark hoodie and more covert persona instead.

In short, it looks like Steve is no longer affiliated with the government on any official level, which is exactly what the Nomad persona is all about.

The theory goes on to predict that Steve will re-assume the Captain America mantle at some point during the Infinity War; this could be a critical moment in the fight against Thanos - the 'turning the tide moment' - that will see the battle begin to pivot in the Avengers' favour after getting their asses beat for the first part of the movie.

Not only is this theory completely logical (given what happened in Civil War) but it would be fantastic to see Cap transition from American mascot to anonymous crime-fighter, and how that would affect the loyalty of his fellow Avengers.

It would certainly make the moment that our heroes do come together to face Thanos feel all the more rewarding.
