10 Awesome Fan Theories About The Future Of The MCU

5. Thanos Will Resurrect Every Dead Villain

When Thanos does eventually slot each Infinity Stone into the Infinity Gauntlet and slips the magical glove on his hand, he's going to be packing plenty of insanely powerful abilities.

In the original Infinity Gauntlet comic-book storyline, Nebula, Thanos' daughter (played by Karen Gillan in the MCU), steals the Gauntlet, complete with a full suite of Infinity Gems, from her father.

She then uses the Gauntlet's power to resurrect a bunch of characters that Thanos had previously killed, undoing much of the prior damage he'd inflicted on the cosmos in the process.

That means there's a good chance this will also be possible in Avengers: Infinity War, and a theory that's been doing the rounds speculates that Thanos will be the one who performs a memorable, game-changing mass resurrection.

If this turns out to be on the money, we could be seeing the likes of Red Skull, Ultron and any other deceased bad guys return from the dead to battle Cap, Iron Man and the rest of the gang. It wouldn't exactly be the first time someone's been brought back to life in the MCU, and as any comic-book fan will know, death isn't essentially permanent.

This theory may sound a little groan-inducing and ever so slightly cheesy, but it's hard to imagine any fan of these movies not getting a kick out of seeing some old favourites back on the big-screen, for one last time; call it a celebration of what came before.
