10 Awesome Fan Theories That Improve The X-Men Movies

Or how to explain away Origins: Wolverine.

To date, the X-Men franchise has spawned no less than seven movies and there are more on the way. Fox's superhero brand has been going for fifteen years now and is showing no signs of slowing down. The franchise began with 2000's X-Men and continued most recently with X-Men: Days Of Future Past - two great offerings which currently act as metaphorical bookends to a series of films that have received a decidedly more mixed collective reception, from the brilliant X2 to the atrocious X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In spite of the franchise's undoubted overall success, given the sporadic nature of the movies' release dates and the contradicting nature of some of the information within them, a number of questions and plot holes have been left by them. Devout fans have tried to justify some of those plot holes with explanations of their own and, if these explanations were true, they would make the franchise as a whole make more sense. Other fans have theories that focus less on fixing the problems and more on simply making an already successful franchise even more awesome. This article will take a look at some theories thought up by fans which do both of those things, so let's get started.
