5. The Dark Knight Rises Contained Hidden Conspiracy Theories
This is a very, very dark theory and not necessarily one that should be celebrated, but it undoubtedly adds a new layer to The Dark Knight Rises and empowers it to a level that makes it more than just a movie. The Dark Knight Rises will, unfortunately, forever be associated with the 2012 Aurora shootings - when a mass shooting occurred inside a Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, during a midnight screening of the film - and there's a theory that the movie itself foreshadowed the terrible event in question. According to Dahboo7 - a YouTube conspiracy theorist - signs of a government conspiracy were hidden in The Dark Knight Rises. Apparently, theres a skyscraper in the film with a sign on it saying Aurora" and, later in the movie, Commissioner Gordon is looking at a map of Gotham and at the bottom-left corner of the map shows the words Sandy Hook (infamously a scene of another awful real world shooting). Dahboo7's explanation of this is that the film was trying to warn the world of a government conspiracy - and, in that sense, Batman is even fighting real world injustice - but thankfully most people have agreed that he was making it all up.
