The film that all Firefly fans craved and thankfully it delivered. Joss Whedon provides a wonderous mix of wit, charm and intelligence to provide an impressive sci-fi experience for both Firefly fans and regular filmgoers alike. Its sense of fun, generated from its Wild West aura, gives the film an impressive being of character, further enhancing the relationship that was developed throughout Firefly. The show€™s cancellation after one season has now been immortalised thanks to the repeated frustrations of Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper, which has more significantly opened up the series to those oblivious to its excellence before. This broadening of its audience, also due to the rise in popularity that Whedon is experiencing through his work on The Avengers, has potentially opened up the possibility of a sequel. Due to the poor box office takings, which admittedly were expected, it seems that a studio may not be willing to take that risk. However, the emergence of Kickstarter has seen a number of fan campaigns fund films that would never of otherwise have been made, note Veronica Mars. The fan base is there, it€™s whether Joss Whedon decides a sequel would be right. Let€™s hope.
