10 Awesome Movie Franchise Crossovers We're Dying To See

7. The Expendables & The Raid

Why It'd Be Awesome: The Expendables franchise has never quite been able to live up to the awesomeness that its premise implies: the gory action and fun banter is great, but there's a lengthy downtime between each set-piece, and let's face it, it's not exactly like these guys are the most spry men on the block, right? So, just as is planned for the upcoming Expendables 3, why not bring in some younger blood to spice things up? Why not bring in Iko Uwais and his fancy-footed colleagues from Gareth Evans' The Raid movies? Why It Might Not Work: There's one major reason why this could fall flat, and that's simply that Uwais and co. would just make The Expendables look like absolute chumps. Sure, having Uwais on the side of Barney Ross and co. might work for a time, though Uwais and co. would seem too much like Superman compared to their older colleagues, and their lightning-fast fighting styles might not mesh well with whichever 60-year-old actor they try to cast as the villain in The Expendables 4. In short, Uwais would make us question why we were watching decrepit old guys trying to relive their former glory rather than a gang of young martial artists smacking the living crap out of each other.
