10 Awesome Movie Franchise Crossovers We're Dying To See
5. James Bond & Jason Bourne
Why It'd Be Awesome: What's better than one awesome, kick-a** secret agent? Two awesome, kick-a** secret agents, that's what. James Bond is of course the world-famous spy who was brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century by Daniel Craig, whose steely performance in a series of gritty movies has essentially revitalised audience excitement in the property. Jason Bourne is in many ways seen as Bond's spiritual successor (at least when Bond wasn't doing so well in the Die Another Day era), a smart, young, extremely adept agent who won't so much drink a Martini as grab a book and slam it into your throat. There's practically no realistic way the two would ever face off, so the smart choice would be to have them team up to take down a bigger threat, and given the sheer breadth of enemies they could come up against, this one would pretty much write itself. With Bond as a charming rogue and Bourne as a more serious-minded sort, there's plenty of potential for some light comic banter, and of course, some deliriously entertaining action. Why It Might Not Work: It's been 7 years since Matt Damon played the part of Jason Bourne, and so there's not even a guarantee that as the years go by, he will even be interested in reprising the role, especially if Jeremy Renner continues to take the Bourne franchise in another direction with his Aaron Cross character. Unfortunately, Bourne doesn't have the same luxury of recasting that Bond does: Damon is really the question mark here, whereas he could just be teamed with whichever Bond is in place at any one time. Other than that, though, we think the two would compliment one another splendidly.
