8. Operator (The Matrix)
Awesomeness Level: 7/10. If you love computers but would prefer not to crunch banal numbers in an office cubicle for 8 hours a day, this one could be for you. Alright, so you'll still be crunching lines of code, but at least it'll be facilitating the latest bout of mayhem that Neo and co. are planning to cause. You'll be relied on to generate exits, objects, weapons and so on, while keeping an eye-out for any incoming enemies that those in The Matrix won't be able to see yet. You'll probably need an advanced knowledge of code that's literally out of this world, but when the end result is like the coolest real-time strategy game ever, I think the grind is worth it.
Risk of Death: 3/10. Given that the Operator generally helps out remotely from Zion, there's not a whole lot of danger, albeit with two exceptions - a) one of the Zion inhabitants pulls a Cypher and decides to help the Agents or b) the Sentinels find a way to break into Zion, and Neo's off playing happy families with Trinity.
