Somebody has to stick up for the little guys. Or, in this case, the massive flops. Michael Mann's latest film, which starred Chris Hemsworth as a handsome hacker, was negatively received at the box office, which made the fact that nobody went to see it at the cinema even more unfortunate for both the acclaimed director of Heat and its star. The film grossed just $19 million on a budget of over three times that. Not good. It's a shame, really, given that Blackhat isn't anywhere near as bad as the critics have made it out to be - in fact, it has a lot going for it, and - behold! - is a genuinely good hacker film. The plot, which sees Hemsworth's unbelievably good-looking computer nerd trying to stop a series of cyber attacks across the globe, makes for thrilling entertainment - the critics who panned this one must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed on the morning they reviewed it. It's the kind of old-school thriller they just don't make anymore. Give it a shot.
