This. This. This is probably one of the best movies of the entire year, and chances are you're now blinking at the screen, brown furrowed, anxiously wondering what the hell it is. Starring Jason Segel in what might just be his best ever performance, and Jesse Eisenberg in another memorable turn, The End of the Tour - an adaptation of the David Lipsky's memoir Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself - explores the life of writer David Foster Wallace, who wrote Infinite Jest, often regarded as one of the great novels. Jason Segel is David Foster Wallace, by the way, and he's absolutely brilliant (not to mention transformative) in the role of the acclaimed writer. Eisenberg stars as Lipsky, who - upon discovering that Wallace has committed suicide - recalls a time they spent together years earlier. The film exists essentially as a five-day conversation between the two men - and what a conversation. For two hours, it pulls you in and simply refuses to let go.
