2. Air Force One

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BBa51CHPtc Air Force One is a cracking action film that takes a pretty loony premise - the President of the United States (Harrison Ford) has his favourite airplane hijacked, and turns all John McClane to save the day - and totally runs with it. It's thrilling and intense right up until its final set-piece, which completely derails itself with some ludicrously awful visual effects. The finale sees the plane crash into an ocean, though what we get is a horrendous CGI model that looks like a pre-vis animatic that an editor accidentally left in the final cut of the film. The physics don't in any way resemble what an actual crash would look like, and given that I'm pretty sure video games of the time were capable of more realistic crash physics, it's just mightily embarrassing to watch.
