3. Sid Phillips - Toy Story
Sid Phillips is without doubt one of the worst, and therefore best, villains Pixar has ever created, mainly as there is nothing at all likable or redeemable amount the character. From the moment we are introduced to the troubled young boy, his lack of respect for anything and attraction to blowing up toys presents him as quite the disturbing sociopath. A young boy blowing up toys isn't that much of a terrifying concept, however as we find out in Toy Story that toys comes to life, Sid and his explosive tendencies, not to mention his experiments on toys which lead to weird and disturbing results, actually become the worst possible threat the toys could ever face. And let us not forget Sid's faithful yet savage dog Scud, who becomes the final threat and obstacle for the toys. Though Sid doesn't exactly get what he deserves at the end of Toy Story - as his main punishment seems to be finding out that toys can come to life, which due to his rather care-free appearance in Toy Story 3, doesn't actually seem to have had much of a prominent effect on his psyche - it is still a joy to see the once menacing Sid run off screaming as well as being taunted by his younger sister. The first Toy Story film was a phenomenon; it was the first chapter in Pixar's long and successful story; it changed animation forever, as well as the face of Disney, and it was the first film in a multi-billion dollar franchise. The success of this film is no doubt down to the boundary-pushing animation at the time, as well as world class story-telling with lovable and memorable characters, but I also believe Sid being the evil, twisted and warped villain he is, as well as one of the worst older brothers I've ever seen in a film, truly helped to make Toy Story the icon it is today.
