10 Awesome Recent Movies That Must Never Get Sequels

As desperately as fans are clamouring for sequels to incredible movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, Zootopia, Dredd and so many more, sometimes a movie just needs to be its own standalone thing.

Though every single one of these films was critically lauded and financially successful, the prospect of a sequel raises more of a groan than it does excitement.

In each case, a follow-up would feel like a cynical, money-grabbing exercise that lacks the inspiration of its predecessor and perhaps even undermines the very message the movie was peddling.

Given the ridiculous talents of the filmmakers involved with these hit movies, they'd better serve audiences by getting to work on exciting new projects rather than returning to the well for an easy payday.

That's not to say all of these potential sequels would be terrible or even bad, but sometimes restraint is a good thing, especially when the story in our heads can be so much more enthralling than what actually gets made...
