10 Awesome Recent Movies You Probably Missed

After Jim Cummings stormed onto the scene with his superb 2018 drama Thunder Road, few would've ever expected his next film to be a horror-comedy.

Yet despite its seemingly typical werewolf movie premise, The Wolf of Snow Hollow is anything but, gradually pulling back the layers to reveal that it's a far more playful and subversive take than you'd expect from the gnarly opening setup.

As writer-director-star, Cummings continues to prove himself a prodigiously talented artist, while the film also serves as a bittersweet farewell for the great Robert Forster, who sadly passed away before it was released. He's great here, by the way.

If the Coen brothers ever made a werewolf movie, it'd probably end up something like this - hilarious in a totally left-field way, beautifully filmed, and perfectly cast.

But like several other movies on this list, don't read or watch much before seeing it.
