10 Awesome Retro Cartoons That Need Their Own Movies

7. Johnny Bravo

Okay, so not massively retro, but definitely a cartoon show which could transition well with the right screenwriter and director. A show which once featured Family Guy€™s Seth Macfarlane as a writer, humour would definitely play a huge part. In 2002, it was reported that a potential live-action film was in the works as a vehicle for Dwayne €˜The Rock€™ Johnson, but twelve years on, there still haven€™t been any further developments. At this point, let€™s pitch Nicholas Cage in the lead role and let your imagination run wild. A protagonist who is a narcissist and slightly intellectually challenged, the cartoon€™s self-awareness would need to be carried over, this could be so very good with the right people involved, and Johnny€™s being the butt of the jokes and breaking of the fourth wall would have to be handled perfectly. As with all moments of a film version of your favourite cartoon, fans of the show would be right to be apprehensive were a film ever announced.
