10 Awesome Retro Cartoons That Need Their Own Movies
7. Johnny Bravo
Okay, so not massively retro, but definitely a cartoon show which could transition well with the right screenwriter and director. A show which once featured Family Guys Seth Macfarlane as a writer, humour would definitely play a huge part. In 2002, it was reported that a potential live-action film was in the works as a vehicle for Dwayne The Rock Johnson, but twelve years on, there still havent been any further developments. At this point, lets pitch Nicholas Cage in the lead role and let your imagination run wild. A protagonist who is a narcissist and slightly intellectually challenged, the cartoons self-awareness would need to be carried over, this could be so very good with the right people involved, and Johnnys being the butt of the jokes and breaking of the fourth wall would have to be handled perfectly. As with all moments of a film version of your favourite cartoon, fans of the show would be right to be apprehensive were a film ever announced.
