10 Awesome Retro Cartoons That Need Their Own Movies
6. He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe
A potential film has been pitched around for a number of years, though as yet, there havent been any major movements, and numerous directors have had their names thrust forward as front runners. 1987s movie starred Dolph Lundgren and Courteney Cox and it was far from successful. That movie was set predominantly on Earth and dealt with little of the back story, so theres lots of scope to take a new adaptation in an interesting direction. Set on the planet of Eternia, a prince with a passion for dress-up takes on an alter ego he uses to do good for his people. No real opportunity for satire there, though hopefully at least a chance to pop some trousers on him this time. A more cartoonish Skeletor would certainly add something, as Frank Langellas performance in the 1987 film was strong, but never felt like the popular villain from the series.
