10 Awesome Retro Cartoons That Need Their Own Movies

6. He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe

A potential film has been pitched around for a number of years, though as yet, there haven€™t been any major movements, and numerous directors have had their names thrust forward as front runners. 1987€™s movie starred Dolph Lundgren and Courteney Cox and it was far from successful. That movie was set predominantly on Earth and dealt with little of the back story, so there€™s lots of scope to take a new adaptation in an interesting direction. Set on the planet of Eternia, a prince with a passion for dress-up takes on an alter ego he uses to do good for his people. No real opportunity for satire there, though hopefully at least a chance to pop some trousers on him this time. A more cartoonish Skeletor would certainly add something, as Frank Langella€™s performance in the 1987 film was strong, but never felt like the popular villain from the series.
