4. Liquid Nitrogen Death - Jason X
Jason X is at once the best and the worst of the Friday the 13th sequels; it's set in space, which is always a good sign of franchise desperation, but it's also set in space. Still, there is one genuinely awesome scene that is commonly cited as one of, if not the best kill in the entire franchise, and indeed, in recent horror history. Jason is being experimented on by a nubile young scientist, when suddenly he awakens and attacks the girl, shoving her head into a sink full of liquid nitrogen, promptly freezing it solid. Jason then imaginatively smashes her frozen head into the work-top, revealing a gory cavity where her face used to be. It's a great scene because the effects are so well-implemented - surprisingly so for a film so evidently low-budget - but the rest of it is basically garbage.
