7. Zeus Carver - Die Hard with a Vengeance
By the time the third film in a series rolls around, creative bankruptcy may well be in effect, especially in a series that primarily occupies itself with a down-and-out cop trying to save his wife from various terrorist catastrophes. Die Hard with a Vengeance, however, is the second-best film in the series - behind the original - not just because it shifts the narrative framework to a frantic cat-and-mouse game, but because of the inclusion of another brilliant supporting player for John McClane (Bruce Willis) to toy around with, something that was sorely lacking in the underwhelming Die Hard 2: Die Harder.
Best Moment: When McClane keeps calling Zeus "Jesus" (after mishearing a guy who said, "Hey, Zeus!"), Zeus retorts, "Why do you keep calling me 'Jesus'? Do I look Puerto Rican to you?" Of all the Die Hard sidekicks, he just might be the best, even topping Al, the troubled cop from the first film.
