10 Awesome Slasher Films You've Probably Never Seen

4. The Midnight Meat Train

Oh, the Midnight Meat Train. A little apart from these other slashers too, as it involves a man chasing a serial killer, rather than a serial killer chasing a band of hapless teenagers, but there€™s a fair amount of slashing, so we€™ll live. Starring Vinnie Jones and Bradley Cooper (yes, really!), the Midnight Meat Train is based on a Clive Barker story about a photographer (Cooper) who becomes obsessed with a serial killer that kills his victims on the subway. He suspects the butcher Mahogany, whom he then starts to follow, which, as you probably already know because you have a glimmer of common sense in you, is a really damn idiotic idea. His obsession starts to grow darker as the killings continue, upsetting his girlfriend Maya, who he starts to become violent and really creepy towards. You€™d expect from Clive Barker that it would get a bit weird, and a bit weird they definitely get. Spoilers be not here, but the twist is something that a thousand monkeys with a thousand typewriters couldn€™t have cooked up. Whether this is a good or bad thing is debatable, but it€™s certainly unexpected. You never can tell what€™s happening in the subway at night, can you?

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
