10 Awesome-Sounding Sequels That Will Never Happen
6. Kill Bill Vol. 3
If Quentin Tarantino really is serious about retiring after making ten movies, with the rumored Manson Family project set to be his ninth, then the rumors of Kill Bill Vol. 3 have officially went from 'maybe one day' to 'never in a million years' status.
The original two-part roaring rampage of revenge was Tarantino at his most indulgent, throwing as many genres into the mix as possible from spaghetti Westerns and blaxploitation right through to wuxia and anime. A third installment was mentioned as early as 2004, with the writer/director claiming it would focus on the daughter of Vernita Green and her quest to gain revenge on The Bride for her mother's death.
The filmmaker has been known to talk up many projects that never come to fruition, but as recently as last year he was quoted as saying "I've been talking to Uma about it just a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done".
With Hollywood's apparent need for everything to be a trilogy these days, somebody is probably going to try and convince him to make it at some point. But if Tarantino sticks to his word and does only have two movies left in him, then most people would rather see him work on original projects than make a sequel, no matter how much potential a third Kill Bill undoubtedly has.
