10 Awesome Wolverine Moments Hugh Jackman Won't Ever Get To Do
Even without Hugh Jackman, there's still a lot of big screen potential for Wolverine.
Way back in the year 2000, Fox decided that the best choice to play the 5'3" Canadian mutant Wolverine was 6'3" Australian Hugh Jackman. Surprisingly, they were right and Jackman’s take on the Canucklehead has been a fixture on the big screen for over a decade and a half now, appearing in all six X-Men movies and two spin-offs of his own.
Unfortunately, this year’s Logan marks the end of an era as it will be Jackman’s last time in the role. The question now is will Wolverine be recast or will he retire with the actor.
It’s certainly been a good run and we’ve seen him go up against big-name threats from the comics like Magneto, Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike. However, there are plenty more stories that could be told.

10. Adventuring In Madripoor
Surprisingly, despite being the most popular member of the X-Men, Wolverine didn't get his own solo series until 1988.
The initial stories of this series were set on the island of Madripoor, a Southeast Asian haven for criminals, and dealt with Logan's attempts to navigate its seedy underbelly. However, at the time, the world thought that the X-Men were dead and so Wolverine adopted the identity of Patch Logan, co-owner of the Princess Bar.
Now let's get the obvious out of the way; yes, the idea that someone as distinctive as Wolverine can disguise himself just by wearing an eyepatch is ridiculous, even in a world where no-one ever questioned the fact that Tony Stark was never seen in the same room as his "bodyguard" Iron Man. But, putting that to one side, Wolverine's adventures in Madripoor are a heck of a fun read, mixing pulp action with detective noir and borrowing heavily from Casablanca and Indiana Jones. Stories included barroom brawls, gang wars, demonic lords of hell and everything in-between.
The series also features some great supporting characters, like the glamorous crime lord Tyger Tiger (who Logan worked with as a lesser of two evils), private investigator and at-the-time depowered Spider-Woman Jessica Drew (although if the Madripoor stories were adapted into film she'd have to be cut) and her assistant, actress Lindsay McCabe.
