10 Awful 2013 Films You'll Never Watch Again

3. The Last Exorcism Part II

The-Last-Exorcism-Part-2

The Last Exorcism was a pretty good horror flick that followed in the €œfound footage€ style that has seemingly become a trend. It was clever and creative, giving us something wildly different from The Blair Witch Project (which it was often needlessly compared to). It was a perfectly fine movie that was best left alone. Nobody really asked or expected a sequel. Well, we got one anyways.

This sequel follows the story of the first film's survivor, Nell (played by Ashley Bell) as she moves into a house for troubled teenagers and tries to start a normal life. She is still tormented by nightmares and struggles with the thought of a demon coming for her. The bulk of the film's story sits at a standstill. Sometimes, I wondered if it truly was a horror film I was watching. They do have some "scares" put here and there but they're mostly lazy, rehashed bits from every other movie about exorcism you've ever seen.

Although it starts off promising, The Last Exorcism Part II turns into a forgettable, boring, and bland horror movie. It was made by a different creative team, unfortunately, and they don€™t really know how to make anything interesting here. What worked in the first movie is nowhere to be found. I€™m actually surprised this was released in theaters at all. Skip it and watch the new Evil Dead instead.
