10 Awful 2018 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween

1. Living Among Us

This micro-budget found footage vampire film was shot way back in 2013, and only after the death of cast member John Heard (who you likely remember as Kevin McCallister's dad in Home Alone) could writer-director Brian Metcalf secure it a VOD release earlier this year.

Despite starring the famous likes of Game of Thrones' Esmé Bianco, American Pie's Thomas Ian Nicholas, William Sadler and James Russo, Living Among Us is a painfully low-rent experience throughout, hampered by woeful writing, horrid direction, janky editing and eye-searingly bad visuals.

Imagine if What We Do in the Shadows took itself totally seriously while being constructed with no skill whatsoever: that's what this movie is. The terrible visual effects occasionally result in some accidental gut-laughs, but for the most part it's just an infuriatingly amateur entry into a wildly over-saturated genre.

Though you're pretty unlikely to stumble across it on your VOD platform of choice anyway, it needs to be a hard pass in the event that you do.

Got any horror movie plans for Halloween yet? Which awful horror movies have you seen this year so far? Shout it out in the comments!
