10 Awful Actors Who Were Paid Incredible Salaries

8. Eddie Murphy

Eddie MurphyNet worth: $85 million. There was a time when Eddie Murphy was one of the finest comedy performers in the industry. Following on from a hugely successful career as a stand-up comedian, Murphy moved into movies and delivered a number of hit comedies, with Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America defining movies of the 1980s. What went wrong after that is anyone's guess. The movies certainly kept on coming but the laughs began to wear thin, until all that remained was a terrible performance followed by a Razzie nomination. Murphy seemed to be relegated to voice work for children's movies, and it's been years since anything he's appeared in has reached the same heights as his breakout roles in the early years. The news that he's returning to the Beverly Hills Cop franchise is hardly cause for celebration, not least because Brett Ratner is on board as director. It's unlikely to be a flop, but even if it is Murphy isn't likely to be too bothered - he recently took the number 1 spot on People With Money€™s top 10 highest-paid actors for 2014 with an estimated $46 million in combined earnings.
