10 Awful Films Buffy The Vampire Slayer Actors Want Us To Forget

9. Scooby-Doo (2002) - Sarah Michelle Gellar

Alyson Hannigan Date Movie
Warner Bros.

A flat and visually iffy affair without the chaotic magic and balls-out carnage of the second film (which happens to star another Buffy alumni in Seth Green), Scooby-Doo was the first big misstep for our very own Buffy Summers, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who both before and after quite cleverly set herself up as one of cinema's new scream queens (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Grudge).

Soon-to-be husband Freddie Prinze Jr also starred as Fred, but it was Gellar's Daphne in particular who grated on audiences, as the script took her in a feminist, girl power direction that would have would have gotten away with it if the character had only felt like the Daphne we know and love in the first place.

Matthew Lillard's Shaggy and his CGI Scoob are the saving grace of this picture, but this was never enough for the film not to be a black smudge on the CVs of all involved.
