10 Awful Films Buffy The Vampire Slayer Actors Want Us To Forget
8. Without A Paddle (2004) - Seth Green
Seth Green, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's cool and reserved werewolf, Oz, has made a handful of what might best be called beer bro or stoner comedies throughout his career. Some which hold up and some which don't.
Unfortunately, Without A Paddle is in the latter category, having not aged especially well - and that's after a lukewarm start to begin with.
Dan (Green), Jerry (Matthew Lillard) and Tom (Dax Shephard) reunite following the death of their childhood friend, and attempt to realise their dream of locating the legendary DB Cooper's lost treasure. Along the way they encounter all the hallmarks of early-2000s low comedy, with a plot so loose it can hardly float, gross-out humour, misogyny and Deliverance-style demonisation and stereotyping of the rural working class.
Without A Paddle is not all bad, with a few laughs here and there, but even Matthew Lillard couldn't save this one and, while Green has redeemed himself through Robot Chicken if nothing else, this may be as good a reason as any why he does more voice work and animation than live action these days.
