9. The Lazarus Effect - Donald Glover

Yes, even renaissance man Donald Glover, known in the music industry as Childish Gambino, has a few duds in his filmography. And none of them are more disappointing than this run of the mill supernatural horror.

Even at just 83 minutes long, the entire thing feels like it was ripped off from several different movies, most notably Flatliners. It follows a group of scientists who create a serum that can bring the dead back to life. They manage to test it on a dog, who begins exhibiting strange behaviour when it returns from beyond the grave, before their parent company cuts their funding.

They sneak into the lab where one of them, Zoe, is killed accidentally and the others use the serum to bring her back to life. Upon her return, she uses her newfound demonic powers to kill them all and then the movie ends.

Sound dull? That’s because it is. All of the talented cast assembled, including Glover, are clearly phoning their performances in and, to be honest, you can’t really blame them.
